2017 marks the 350th anniversary of Jonathan Swift's birth in 1667.
'A Modest Proposal' celebrates this anniversary with solo exhibitions by David O'Kane
at Cavanacor Gallery in Donegal, Ireland and at the Josef Filipp Galerie in Leipzig, Germany.
The artwork is inspired by the infamous essay, 'A Modest Proposal' by Jonathan Swift,
which was first printed in 1729 by Sarah Harding in Copper Alley, Dublin.

The entire project was commissioned by Jamie Murphy of the Salvage Press.
All of the lithographs will be included in a special limited edition large scale book.
Printed with the expert assistance of Mick Timmins at Independent Editions
Jessica Traynor has supplied nine new poems in response to the original text.

Group exhibition of a wide variety of printmaking techniques and painting at the Angerlehner Museum in Thalheim/Wels in Austria.
Artwork by 64 internationally recognised artists from 14 countries are on display including work by artists such as
Rosa Loy, David O'Kane, Vlado Ondrej, Christoph Ruckhäberle, Yehudit Sasportas, Titus Schade, Kristina Schuldt und Matthias Weischer.
